Alex has over 15 years' experience in the public sector, working in teams focused on child and adolescent mental health, parenting support and family therapy.
Alex is experienced in providing assessment and treatment for a wide variety of developmental, emotional and behavioural concerns presenting in childhood and adolescence.
Alex is informed by attachment theory and has a family systems approach to treatment. She works with young people and their families to tailor evidence-based interventions to their needs and interests.
Alex is qualified to deliver the Circle of Security Parenting Program which is an attachment focused approach to parenting children of all ages. She is also trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Trauma-focused CBT and ACT, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Family Based Treatment of Eating Disorders (Maudsley), and Attachment Based Family Therapy.
Alex is a board approved registrar program supervisor (Clinical Psychology).
Outside of work, Alex enjoys gardening, bushwalking, listening to podcasts and Pilates.
